The philosophy of the project is to represent Dubai Islamic Bank asthe most progressive Islamic institution in the world. The design of the Back-Office Building needs to reflect the majestyof the Bank but it also has to be functional and flexible. All these requirements are the basis of the proposal made byAl Hashemi. The building looks like a solid block referring to the solid structureof the bank but at the same time it has some slices andvolume subtractions to give a modern shape and to differentiatethe interior space. The glass facades represent the concept of transparency andthey also reflect the sky to show how high are the objectives ofDubai Islamic Bank. The whole composition gives a sense oflightness and freshness.A colored texture interrupts the glass when the facade breaks. The combination of these materials permits to have the maximumdynamism possible.Flexibility is one of the strongest points of the project. Every interiorspace is designed to obtain different spatial configurations.Efficiency is a must. Interiors are designed to give the maximumnumber of occupants. The tower has 17 floors plus 7 floors of podium and 2 basements. The number of parkings provided is 334 and it totally fulfillsthe requirements. The ground floor accommodates the costumer service, shops, different areas for clients and offices. From the service road ispossible to directly access to the basement and the podium. The building has different views of the surroundings includingAl Ittihad road, Sharjah’s skyline and the panoramic view of AlMamzar Beach.
